Overview and Features
If you just learned how to ride a cruiser motorcycle and you love getting away from it all when you’re riding around, but need to stay in contact with the family, this Sena communication system is the product you’ve been searching for. These days, finding motorcycle speakers that offer the type of features the seasoned biker needs isn’t as easy as it sounds, but Sena has outdone themselves with this versatile communication system that comes with all the bells and whistles you could ever want in a speaker helmet system that’s at the top of its class.
This model comes loaded with a Bluetooth 4.1 universal intercom that’s designed to work up to 1.2 miles, which is decent for this price range.
Tired of using motorcycle helmet speakers that aren’t able to shut out other sounds in the background, especially the roar of your bike’s engine? This system provides HD crystal clear audio combined with Sena’s patented advanced noise control feature that’s designed to block out any type of ambient noise, even your bike’s motor. The system’s top of the line speakers combined with the dual module design provides a responsive, crisp listening experience that any music lover can appreciate.
This system also features the popular intercom system which will allow you to have an intercom conversation even while GPS is active or you’re listening to your favorite tunes or the latest weather report. The system also supports hands-free voice commands which goes a long way in terms of both convenience and safety.
The ability to listen to your favorite FM stations will allow you to stay ahead of bad weather. You’ll also have access to road condition information, which can be helpful if there is a serious accident on your route and you want to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
While you can still enjoy the peace and tranquility that comes with riding your bike, the ability to steer clear of dangerous road conditions and weather is important, especially if you’re new to riding and don’t want to get caught in a downpour.
Motion Sensor Technology
This system offers top of the line technology all the way. The motion sensor technology will allow you to pair any Bluetooth compatible devices.
The system comes loaded with an intuitive user interface that makes it easy even for technically challenged users to pair devices. Additionally, this system offers hands-free voice commands, which is an important safety feature that you won’t find on lower priced systems. Control the music, switch FM radio stations, answer a phone call, all via voice commands. It’s clear that the manufacturer knows exactly what the motorcyclist needs when they’re out on the road.
This system will allow you to get the most out of every ride while providing a convenient, safe way to communicate with family, friends, and work. Additionally, the system allows you to remain in contact with up to eight people up to 1.2 miles away via the group intercom feature which works with other riders who have this system. This model’s intercom protocol can be used with other models of Bluetooth headsets by Sena.
But is this system really able to deliver everything Sena claims it can? One of the biggest issues you’ll run across with lower-priced systems is the so-called noise canceling technology that will block out any background noise, including engine noise. Unfortunately, with most of these systems, you’ll quickly realize that the system simply isn’t powerful or loud enough to block out all types of ambient noise.
That’s where this system shines.
If you want to shut out noise from your environment, this Sena system delivers. It’s also compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
However, one downside we came across was the system’s limited Bluetooth range. Competing models such as the Cardo Scala Rider Duo- Motorcycle Communication and Entertainment System features a Bluetooth range of file miles while this system has a 1.2 range. Considering the price, this can be a deal breaker for some. Additionally, the competing model also features a group intercom option, just like this system, however, the Cardo system allows up to fifteen system users per conference call, while this system only allows up to eight users.
However, in terms of sound quality, the 20S clearly takes the lead. The 20S also offers a more beginner-friendly pairing option and user interface.
